Community Connect, the First Due secure public safety database available to city residents and business owners, has expanded its services.

Now, city residents may request residential smoke alarm inspection and replacement services from the City of Fairfax Fire Department, whose staff inspect, install, and replace smoke alarms and batteries for free upon request. Additionally, the commercial property customers interface includes two new features. Now, account administrators may add points of contact to be notified when a fire or medical incident is reported at their facility, and when units are dispatched. Property managers for high-rise facilities also may be informed that units are on the way, so they can ensure doors are unlocked and elevators are at ground level for the emergency responders.
