Counterfeit Scam Double-Whammy Hits Store in Fairfax: Police
Two men made a "small" purchase with two phony $100 bills, according to Fairfax Police. They said they needed change. They got it and left.

FAIRFAX, VA — Two men stopped by a 7-Eleven convenience store at 3910 University Drive early Tuesday afternoon, picked up what they wanted and headed to the checkout counter, according to Fairfax Police.
They just had a small purchase to make but then handed the clerk two $100 bills. Not one but two.
Said they needed change. So the cashier took the bills and gave them their change.

And then they left, shortly before the manager alerted police about the incident which led to an investigation that revealed, yep, the bills were counterfeit.

4000 Block of Chestnut Street – On January 17 at 2:53 PM the resident reported that a male subject known to him had used his identifying information in Baltimore to obtain credit or charge bills. The Patrol Division is investigating the case.
