As with previous holiday guidance for the recent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day holidays, health specialists strongly recommended you enjoy the Super Bowl at home with your immediate household members.

Gathering virtually online with friends and neighbors is another safe way to celebrate the Super Bowl this year.

We all may be tempted to meet up with friends and neighbors to watch the game, critique the ads and enjoy the halftime show, but like NFL teams that followed COVID-19 protocols in order to even have a Super Bowl, we need everyone in our community to support Team End This Pandemic.”

We can’t let Super Bowl parties become COVID-spreading events, so we strongly discourage those types of traditional gatherings with friends and neighbors.

Here’s more information from the CDC on small gatherings.

And here’s a reminder about the governor’s executive order on gatherings and face coverings:

  • Social gatherings limited to 10: Both public and private social gatherings must be limited to 10 people. Social gatherings include, but are not limited to, parties, celebrations or other social events, regardless of whether they occur indoors or outdoors.
  • Universal mask wearing: Everyone age 5 and up is required to wear a face mask indoors when not at their own home and outdoors when it’s not possible to social distance.

As a community, we’re taking steps everyday to inch closer to the end zone of ending this pandemic. Play your part and don’t let your guard down during this critical time.
