Embezzlement Scam Strikes Business in Fairfax: Police

A manager found a former employee set up a fraudulent account in the company's name, according to Fairfax Police. It happened at Kwik Kopy.

FAIRFAX, VA — A manager looking at her store's financial records made an interesting discovery Monday afternoon at Kwik Kopy, 11150 Fairfax Boulevard, according to Fairfax Police.

Scratch interesting. Make it an eye-popping discovery.

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., the manager told police that a former employee had embezzled money from the shop beginning in 2015.

The ex-worker made customers' bills chargeable to a fraudulent account he had set up in the company's name.

10723 Main Street / Fairfax Presbyterian Church – On March 23 at 8:53 PM the two victims reported that sometime between 7:50 PM and 9:15 PM on March 22 unknown person(s) had stolen their wallets from a kitchen cupboard while they were attending a meeting at the church. The wallets contained cash, credit cards and identification. The Patrol Division is investigating the case.

10660 Page Avenue / United States Post Office Parking Lot – On March 27 at 8:32 AM the vehicle owner reported that on March 26 between 9:15 PM and 9:30 PM unknown person(s) had rummaged through her parked vehicle and taken a bag containing keys while she was inside the post office.

4041 University Drive / Rejuvenation MD Aesthetics & Wellness Center – On March 27 at 1:44 PM the owner reported that after she had performed a procedure for an unknown female subject who was a walk-in patient the subject had presented a credit card in payment which was declined. The subject left to allegedly go to her vehicle to get another credit card, but never returned. The Patrol Division is investigating the case.
