Fair Lakes Man Leads Police on Friday Evening Chase
He faces reckless driving, other charges, say Fairfax City police.

A Fair Lakes man is behind bars following a police chase on Friday evening in a Fairfax City neighborhood that began in the parking lot of Hooters. The chase involved a helicopter and a police dog, according to a city police report.
A Fairfax City police officer pulled over the vehicle driven by Mohammed Reza Mohajerin, 29, at 5:52 p.m. at the restaurant in the Fairfax Shopping Center, 10334 Fairfax Blvd. (Route 29/50), during Friday’s rush hour. Mohajerin had been driving erratically on Fairfax Boulevard, the report said.

He pulled away as the officer questioned him and drove to the Verizon building parking lot across the street, at which point Mohajerin and a passenger fled the scene on foot, the report said.
The city police began searching the area for the pair with the help of a police dog. They also called the Fairfax County police for help, and a county police helicopter joined the search.

They located the passenger in Van Dyck Park, three blocks south, the report said. The passenger helped identify Mohajerin as the driver.
At 9:07 p.m., the county police said they had taken Mohajerin into custody and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
The report lists Mohajerin’s residence as 4801 Great Heron Terrace, in the Fair Lakes area. After searching the recovered vehicle, Fairfax City police charged him with providing false identity to a law enforcement officer, disregarding a law enforcement command/continuing to drive while endangering others, buying/receiving stolen goods valued at over $200, reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.
He was ordered held without bond at the Fairfax County jail.
