Fairfax City Fire Hosting Back-To-School Supply Drive
The City of Fairfax Fire Department set up donation boxes at two stations to collect basic school supplies through the fall semester.
FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Those wishing to ensure Fairfax City students have the tools they need to succeed this school year will have an opportunity to help thanks to the Fairfax City Fire Department. The department, in partnership with IAFF Local 2702, recently kicked off a back-to-school supply drive and plans to collect supplies at two stations through the fall semester.
After supporting a coat drive in previous years, department officials made the decision to revamp the charitable effort into one that will help Fairfax City teachers maintain a stock of basic school supplies in their classrooms. To help meet that need, the department set up boxes at Station No. 3, 4081 University Dr., and Station No. 33, 10101 Fairfax Blvd.
Those wishing to donate will find drop-off boxes in the same locations as the department’s Toys For Tots drop-off boxes. Donations are accepted at any time.
