Fairfax City Hall Open By Appointment Beginning Monday, June 8

On Monday, June 8, City of Fairfax City Hall will transition to Limited Access, allowing public access to city government offices.

On Monday, June 8, City of Fairfax City Hall will transition to Limited Access, allowing public access to city government offices by appointment only. City Hall will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays (excluding holidays). Unscheduled visitors will not be permitted entry.

Appointments must be made the previous workday, at least 24 hours in advance.

A comprehensive list of appointment options will be posted on the city website by 3 p.m. on Friday, June 5 — or contact the department directly via email or phone for more information.

Visitors who are more than five minutes late may have their appointment cancelled and the visitor may need to reschedule with the appropriate department.

Please enter and exit City Hall from the Fairfax City Hall Atrium, at the east door facing George Mason Boulevard and adjacent to full accessibility parking. All other doors will be locked.

Visitors must check their temperature in the Atrium. Those with a temperature greater than 100.4ºF will be asked to reschedule their appointment.

Reminder: the Commonwealth of Virginia has mandated the wearing of face coverings in all indoor public spaces. Please practice social distancing.

Exemptions

  • Appointments are not required, and the reception desk will provide directions to these offices:
    • General District Court — Customers will be directed to the General District Court Office adjacent to the Atrium.
    • Office of Elections — Voters should park in the specially marked spaces and follow the directions on the signs to contact the Office of Elections. Stay in the car, and staff will conduct business at the car, practicing social distancing and other proper health protocol. Information: email, 703.385.7891

The following city facilities remain closed until further notice:

  • Fairfax Museum & Visitor Center
  • Green Acres Center, including Young at Heart Senior Center
  • Historic Blenheim and The Civil War Interpretive Center
  • Old Town Hall
  • Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center
  • Police Department headquarters lobby (a phone adjacent to the lobby may be used for walk-ins and emergency)
