Fairfax City Police Investigating Theft at Nursing Home

Fairfax City police are investigating a theft reported Tuesday from a patient at a local nursing home.

At 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the patient at the Commonwealth Health & Rehab Center, 4315 Chain Bridge Road, told police that at some time between midnight and 6 a.m. that morning, an unknown person or persons had stolen cash in an envelope that belonged to her, according to a police report.

The envelope had been in a drawer in a portable table in her room, the report said. The amount of cash was not disclosed.
