Car Hits Pedestrian Standing at Drive-Thru ATM
No injuries reported in Friday incident, according to Fairfax City Police.

A woman told police that she was struck by a car on Friday, allegedly because the driver was upset the woman was standing in the drive-thru lane to use the ATM.

Officers responded at the Wells Fargo Bank at 10344 Fairfax Boulevard. The victim, 24, of Fairfax, told officers she was using the ATM at 10 a.m. when she was struck by the car.
‘The driver was reportedly angry with her for standing the drive-thru lane, according to police.

The victim did not sustain any injuries and the case is still under investigation.

Assault Arrest: 10300 Stratford Avenue / Fairfax United Methodist Church – On January 31 at 10:09 PM the victim, a 40 year old Fairfax area man, reported that a male subject at the hypothermia shelter in the church had assaulted him by placing his hands around the victim’s neck and pulling on his ears. The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Adult Detention Center. William Arnold Schmatz, 44, of no fixed address, was charged with simple assault and drunk in public. His bond was set at $1500.
