Empty latex paint cans are accepted curbside for disposal; please remove the lid from the paint can when setting the empty can at the curb. To dry paint remnants in the can, please use a drying agent such as kitty litter, paper, or sand — and dry the paint completely before disposal. Remember to remove the lid when setting at the curb. Click here for more information on latex paint can disposal.

Reusable *full* or nearly full cans of latex paint are accepted at the Fairfax County Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Site at the I-66 Transfer Station, 4618 West Ox Road, for donation to Habitat for Humanity. Please notify staff of any reusable full or near-full cans of latex paint for donation. To visit the Household Hazardous Waste website, click here.
