Fairfax City Residents Call Police After Unknown Man Enters Their Home

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested a Springfield man early Sunday morning after responding to a call for an unknown man entering a home in the 3700 block of Tedrich Boulevard, according to the weekly crime report.

The residents of the home contacted police around 3:41 a.m., to report that a man they didn't know had entered their residence and told them he was lost. The man fled the scene before police arrived, according to the report.

Officers found the man nearby, but when they tried to approach him, he ran off, according to police. The officers located him a short time later sitting inside of a vehicle.

Police took 22-year-old Robert Okoro into custody and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged for being drunk in public.

Once Okoro sobered up, he was released and has an upcoming city court appearance on the drunk in public charge. The residents declined to prosecute Okoro for unlawful entry, according to police.
