The George Snyder Trail plans are nearing 60 percent completion. City of Fairfax staff will present an update on the project during a virtual meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. on August 20. Community members are invited to share their feedback on the plans. A public hearing is tentatively set for September 22, 2020. Instructions for joining the meeting are listed below.
The George Snyder Trail will complete construction of the two-mile trail along the southern side of Accotink Creek, running east/west between Chain Bridge Road and Fairfax Boulevard. Proposed future connections will allow trail users east to Washington, D.C, and west to Haymarket, Va. Construction is slated to begin in 2022.
