Fairfax IT Firm To Merge With Reston Firm: Media Report

The deal to create Salient CRGT is expected to close before the end of the year.

An information technology firm based in Fairfax is merging with a Reston IT firm to win more federal customers, according to a media report.

Salient Federal Solutions Inc. is joining forces with Reston-based CRGT to create the new firm, the Washington Business Journal reported Wednesday. It will be called Salient CRGT; the merger is expected to be completed by the fourth quarer of this year.

The new company will employ more than 1,700 people at locations in Reston and near Fair Oaks Mall, the Business Journal reported.. Salient CRGT’s annual revenues are projected to reach $375 million.

Two private equity firms, one in New York and the other in Chicago, were involved in the merger, the Business Journal said. Other terms of the deal were not disclosed.
