FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Motorists traveling through the City of Fairfax Friday afternoon may experience traffic delays, as police temporarily close roads for Fairfax High School's 2021 Homecoming Parade.

The parade begins around 4 p.m. near Historic Blenheim on Old Post Road and makes its way back to the school for homecoming activities. Police will be closing Old Lee Highway and Lion Run at 4:15 p.m. for a short period of time to allow for the parade to pass.

The parade will end in the school parking lot, where members of the community are invited to enjoy food trucks and homecoming-related activities.

The stadium gates open at 6 p.m., followed by the kickoff for the Lions' homecoming game against Edison at 7 p.m.

Elementary students who wish to be part of the "High-Five Tunnel" welcoming football players to the field must preregister online.

Fairfax High School alumni are encouraged to take part in homecoming activities. Tickets for Friday night's game can be purchased online.
