Man Taken Into Custody After Hours Of Negotiations At Fair Oaks Home

Late Tuesday night, Fairfax County Police took a man into custody who had barricaded himself and a woman inside a Fair Oaks home.

FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax County Police took a man into custody shortly before 10 p.m. on Tuesday night, following hours of negotiations after the man barricaded himself and a woman inside a Fair Oaks home. The woman held captive by the man was safe, according to police.

FCPD first reported around 5 p.m. on Tuesday they were outside a home in the 4100 block of Park Chase Drive in the Fair Oaks in response to the barricade by a man who was possibly armed.

Crisis negotiators and co-responders were reported at the scene around 5:48 p.m., and began negotiating with the man to peacefully resolve the situation. Members of the public were told to avoid the area while negotiations were conducted.

The home where the barricade took place was in the Parkside at Fair Center townhouse community, which is located off of Monument Lane between Fairfax Center and the Wegmans grocery story.
