Father Daughter Dance June 17 In Fairfax

The Father Daughter Dance will be held June 17 at the Sherwood Community Center in Fairfax. Tickets are $30 per dancer, er, participant.

FAIRFAX, VA — You've no doubt seen those commercials over the years in which a father and his little girl dance together on whatever occasion, formal or informal. Then the commercials flash way ahead to ostensibly show the same little girl — now grown — dancing with the same father at, say, a wedding or something of that ilk.

Well, there may well be a bit of both scenarios the day before Father's Day when the City of Fairfax parks and recreation department will hold its Father Daughter Dance 6-9 p.m. June 17 at the Sherwood Community Center, 3740 Old Lee Highway. There also will be food, games and prizes to go with the dancing.
