FAIR OAKS, VA — A two-alarm fire caused an estimated $1,068,000 in damage to a Fair Oaks area home last Tuesday night, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

Fire and rescue units responded around 11:30 p.m., for the report of a house fire in the 12300 block of Firestone Court. Arriving on the scene, fire personnel observed heavy flames showing from the garage and extending into the attic of a two-story, single-family home, according to FCFRS.

As fire personnel began operations to extinguish the blaze, a second alarm was issued, bringing units from the City of Fairfax Fire Department and Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue.

Two civilians were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to FCFRS. No fire personnel were reported injured.

Two residents were in the home at the time of the fire and were able to exit on their own. They were displaced by the fire, according to FCFRS.

Once the fire was extinguished, an investigation determined that the fire, which had originated in the home's garage, caused approximately $1,068,000 in damage. No information was available about what caused the fire.
