First Virginia Dressbarn Store Closures Announced
As the women's clothing retailer winds down its operations, the company announced two stores in Virginia will be closing before the others.

VIRGINIA — Dressbarn, the women’s clothing store that is winding down operations and closing all 650 stores, has announced the first round of stores that will shutter in the coming weeks. Two Virginia stores are included in the initial wave of closures.
A list posted to the Dressbarn website on Friday named 28 locations that will be closing in June and July.
The Virginia locations that will be closing are located in Fairfax and Williamsburg. They are slated to close sometime in June; an exact date was not provided.

In Fairfax, the store in the Greenbriar Town Center will be closing, while the one in Fair City Mall will remain open, for now.
When Dressbarn announced that it would be winding down operations, it did not disclose when stores would begin shutting down. Dressbarn CFO Steven Taylor called the decision “difficult but necessary” as the stores had “not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today’s retail environment.”
