City of Fairfax Fishing Derby Coming Up April 9
The pond will be stocked with hundreds of trout, according to the City.
FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- The City of Fairfax Fishing Derby is set for Saturday, April 9 at Ashby Pond in Fairfax City.
Ashby Pond Conservatory will be well stocked with hundreds of trout, according to the City. Participants are asked to bring their own fishing rod, bucket, plastic bag and ice. A limited quantity of fishing rods will be available on site to borrow. Bait will be supplied. Volunteers will provide instruction, pond education and fish cleaning demonstrations.
The park is located at 9817 Ashby Road (see map below). In addition to the pond, there are also nature trails and picnic tables at the park.

$5 per fisherman (pre-registration required)
