FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A fox pays a late-night visit Monday to the home of a Patch reporter.

At 1:39 a.m., the fox nibbles a few treats and gazes into the Ring camera, before grabbing a quick drink of water and running away.

The fox is a frequent visitor to the home, which is located north of Fairfax City. However, he has become much bolder in recent weeks, stealing metal bowls containing food for the neighborhood's feral cat, Popeye. This has forced the homeowners to put out paper bowls instead.

This isn't the first time the fox has been involved in shenanigans outside the Patch reporter's home. In June, he showed up in broad daylight to crunch on some snacks. Back in April, the Ring camera captured Popeye aggressively chasing the fox away in order to defend his food bowl.
