Audiologist Jennifer Bonner (Audiologist, M.S., Lic. #2201002074) is new to the Fairfax area, but she’s not new to hearing care. More than 20 years as an audiologist have made her passionate about helping people hear their best – and understand why hearing is so important.
“I love being able to talk to customers and explain their hearing loss to them,” says Jennifer. “I want them to be part of the conversation and not just be a bystander. My greatest gift is when a customer leaves a review saying that they learned a lot at their appointment.”
Education is a big part of hearing care, because although awareness about the importance of good hearing as we age is on the rise, people still put off dealing with their hearing.
“A lot of people have been having trouble hearing for 7 plus years before they come to see me, so it’s a big step for them to finally come in and say they’re ready,” Jennifer explains. “Telling them we have the solutions for you to hear better is such a rewarding experience.”
At HearingLife, our hearing care providers have access to the latest testing equipment and hearing aids from all major manufacturers. This allows them to conduct comprehensive hearing testing and recommend the best hearing aid for each individual with respect to their hearing loss, lifestyle and budget.
Jennifer’s father has worn hearing aids for the last 30 years, so she has personal experience with the impact hearing loss has on a family and the difference hearing aids make.
“He’s tried a lot of types of hearing aids over the years so I can get his feedback on them,” Jennifer says. “Taking him through the journey over the years has been really special.”
Jennifer moved to the Fairfax area to open the brand-new HearingLife location so she could be closer to her parents and family.
“It’s a great opportunity at this point in my career,” Jennifer explained. “There are so many people in the Fairfax area who are interested in our services and everyone has been so welcoming!”
It wasn’t easy leaving her customers in South Carolina, Jennifer tears up as she describes the tokens of gratitude and notes that her customers gave her when she left.
“It’s important, the work I do,” says Jennifer. “For so many people, the hearing loss journey starts full of doubts and nerves about wearing hearing aids and then they do and their lives transform and they go from withdrawing to being fully engaged with family and friends again – and that is so special.”
HearingLife of Fairfax offers hearing tests for free so that everyone can gain clarity around their hearing health. Whether you’re ready to establish a baseline at age 40-50 or you’re over 60 and ready for annual hearing tests, the team is ready to help.
“Even if you think you’re too young for a hearing test, if you used to go to a lot of concerts, I recommend getting a hearing test closer to age 50,” says Jennifer. “Everyone is unique and so is your hearing, so if you’ve lived a noisier life, you need to get hearing care sooner.”
HearingLife’s national footprint of more than 600 locations means customers who travel always have access to hearing care and even after hours, the HearingLife OnDemand team is available to help.
HearingLife of Fairfax is holding a Grand Opening event on June 18, 2026. Stop by between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. to meet Jennifer and get a hearing screening. Learn more about the event and sign up here to reserve your spot: HearingLife Hearing Center | Hearing Aids | Fairfax.
