How To Get Rid Of Christmas Trees In Fairfax City

Wondering how to dispose of your Christmas tree In Fairfax City? On your regular collection day, take it to the curb for pick-up.

FAIRFAX, VA — Among the many signs that the holiday season finally has run its course is the somewhat sad spectacle of spent Christmas trees, stripped of their lights and tinsel, lying outside by the curb for several days until being picked up and hauled away to points unknown. Well, here's a way to spare yourself having to look at the daily reminder that the fun's done.

In Fairfax, simply wait until your regularly scheduled collection day and then take the tree — as well as wreaths and garland — to the curb for disposal. And, as mentioned above, make sure to remove all the tree's decorations and tinsel. Too, remove all wires from wreaths.

The trees and other greenery will be taken to the Fairfax County landfill, where a new life of mulch awaits. The mulch will be available to city residents while supplies last.
