Hubbub at Hooters: Customer Charged with Assault After Throwing Objects at Employee
Police were called to Hooters Thursday night after an employee said a man threw objects and pushed a computer monitor.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA -- Police have charged an Oakton man with assault and battery after an incident Thursday night at the Hooters restaurant and bar in Fairfax City.
Police say that Michael Earle Smith, Jr., 39 of Oakton threw several objects and pushed a computer monitor at a Hooters employee Thursday night. The employee reported to police that she got into a verbal altercation with Smith after he threw the objects and pushed the computer monitor. Police were contacted at about 8:47 p.m.
Smith was taken into custody and transported to jail, where he was charged with assault and battery, police said. His bond was set at $2,500. The victim did not require medical treatment, police said.

Hooters is located at 10034 Fairfax Blvd. and is moving to a new location at 10060 Fairfax Blvd.
