FAIRFAX CITY, VA — The Lamb Center, a daytime drop-in homeless shelter in Fairfax, will host a spring festival as a fundraiser for its programs.

The first-ever Spring Festival & Fundraiser will be held on April 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Van Dyck Park, 3720 Old Lee Highway, Fairfax. A live lamb petting area will be a highlight of the event, a nod to the shelter's name. Other activities will include Easter egg decorating, face and mural painting, 1:30 p.m. Easter egg hunt, and 50/50 raffle with a cash prize and "egg-stravagant" Easter basket. The event will be held under the large picnic pavilion and in the adjacent field.

Attendance is free, but the raffle's proceeds will support programs for Lamb Center guests. Registration is requested to attend.

The Lamb Center started in 1992 as a church ministry, serving thousands of homeless guests with essential services and encouragement through the Christian faith. Since then, it has continued to provide essential services for homeless people, including meals, showers, laundry service, clothes, case management, a nurse practitioner clinic, dental clinic and more. One of its success stories is a jobs program with the City of Fairfax and Fairfax County, providing a transitional work program to Lamb Center guests. As services expanded over the years, the Lamb Center has moved locations, with the most recent being 3160 Campbell Drive in Fairfax.
