Longtime Fairfax City Police Department Volunteer Retires
Charlie Potock stepped down Tuesday as a volunteer with the Fairfax City Police Department's Volunteer In Police Service program.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Charlie Potock, one of the original members of the City of Fairfax Police Department's VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service) program, retired as a volunteer on Tuesday, according to a post on the department's official Twitter account.
A longtime city resident, Potock joined VIPS with her late husband Walter. Over the years, she's dedicated her time to helping the department's administration and organizing special events. In addition, she serves every year as a member of the City of Fairfax Independence Day Celebration Committee.
"We here at the police department are certainly going to miss you and we thank you for you dedication to the City of Fairfax!" the tweet said.
