Longtime Home Remodeling Firm Has a New Home Itself
Schroeder Design/Build moves from Lee Highway to Prosperity Avenue, tripling the size of its usable space.

FAIRFAX, Va. — Usually, it's the other way around -- though not literally.
The Fairfax-based building and remodeling firm, Schroeder Design/Build, would complete a renovation or major improvements to a home. Then, residents would walk into their refurbished dwelling in a figurative ribbon-cutting ceremony.
This time, though, it was the family owned company that staged a for-real ribbon-cutting June 30 to celebrate its new showroom and offices at 3918 Prosperity Avenue.

In business for 30 years, Schroeder Design/Build had spent the previous half decade on Lee Highway after moving from Spruce Avenue, with both locations having relatively cramped room to maneuver. But the new location is nearly three times the size of the Lee Highway location.
Included in the ceremony was Sharon Bulova, the chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
