Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Centreville: Police
The man was a passenger in a Chevy van that smashed into a tree, according to Fairfax County Police. The driver was injured, hospitalized.

CENTREVILLE, VA — A passenger in the front seat of a Chevrolet van was killed early Tuesday morning in a single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Bradenton Drive and Centreville Road, according to Fairfax County Police.
Jose L. Merida, 43, of Takoma Park, Md., was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 53-year-old Centreville woman, was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital with injuries that weren't life threatening.

Shortly after 2 a.m., police responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash and found that the vehicle had left the road and smashed into a tree.
Neither speed nor alcohol appear to be factors.
