FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax County Police are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and vehicle that occurred Sunday afternoon in the Fairfax area of the county, according to a post on the department's official Twitter account.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but the rider's injuries were later reported to be not life-threatening, according to police.

The crash took place at the intersection of Braddock Road and Second Road, according to a 1:07 p.m. Twitter post.

Police closed eastbound Braddock Road to traffic for a short period of time on Sunday so that the Crash Reconstruction Unit could investigate the incident. The road later reopened.
