FAIRFAX, VA (February 11, 2026) – Peterson Companies, one of the largest privately-owned real estate development companies in the Washington, D.C. region and developers and managers of Fairfax Corner, announced the full lease up of its new 36,000 sq. ft. retail building, a key component of the center’s $110 million expansion.

The final 1,552 sq. ft. space in the building has been leased to Brighton, which joins previously opened tenants Apple, Arhaus, J.McLaughlin, and Sweetgreen. In addition to Brighton, four more tenants have signed leases: Cafesano, Chateau, Nando’s, and Becky’s Boutique.

Brighton, the brand known for its exquisitely crafted women’s handbags, jewelry, and accessories, plans to open later this year.

Cafesano Italian & Mediterranean Bistro is coming to Fairfax Corner and will occupy 5,202 sq. ft in its third location. Later this year, diners will enjoy fresh, flavorful food, inspired by the classic Mediterranean diet of whole grains, lean meats, and fresh vegetables served in an elevated quick-casual dining room with outdoor seating.

Fairfax Corner is also welcoming back Becky’s Boutique, following a successful pop-up location at the center. The locally owned women’s fashion retailer is expected to open in February in 1,060 sq. ft.

Chateau and Nando’s PERi-PERi are also joining the lineup. Chateau, a second location from the team behind the popular Chateau de Chantilly, will occupy 3,029 sq. ft. in part of the former Arhaus space. Nando’s PERi-PERi, known for its flavorful South African flame-grilled chicken platters, skewers, and sandwiches, will occupy 3,450 sq. ft. next to Chipotle. Both are slated to open in early 2027.

Previously announced, Ruthie’s All Day, the award-winning local restaurant concept celebrated for its Southern hospitality and comfort food, is confirmed for a March opening.

Over the past 14 months, Fairfax Corner has delivered over 58,000 sq. ft. of newly occupied space or signed leases, further expanding its evolving tenant mix.

“We capitalized on a rare opportunity to remerchandise key areas of Fairfax Corner in a condensed timeline and are now seeing the efforts to refresh our mix come to life,” said Kimli Cross, senior vice president of leasing at Peterson Companies. “With several new brands and an entirely new retail building, we’re elevating the center’s offerings and experience. Our mix is changing in the best of ways, and our newly opened and soon-to-come tenants are giving our customer the best of what they want.”
