During the review process, members of the public expressed concerns about the loss of affordable housing with the demolition of the Breezeway Motel and the Fairfax Garden Apartments.
At the March 8, 2022 public hearing, the Fairfax City Council approved the final version of Pulte's redevelopment plan on a 4-3 vote. Revisions to the original plan included Pulte agreeing to donate $417,524 toward the establishment of affordable housing in the city to provided financial assistance for the relocation of Fairfax Garden residents.
