Pennsylvania Cops Tell Clueless Fairfax Car Dealership One of its Cars Was Stolen

Ted Britt Ford of Fairfax didn't even know it was missing until being notified by Pennsylvania state police, who recovered it.

If someone steals your car and you don't know it's missing, then what?

In the case of Ted Britt Ford of Fairfax, you get a phone call from out-of-state police telling you that one of your cars was stolen and has been recovered.

According to Tuesday's Fairfax police report, a manager at the dealership reported that "sometime after June 30, a 2014 Ford Edge SUV had been stolen from the dealership but they had been unaware that it was missing until they were contacted by the Pennsylvania State Police who had recovered the vehicle in the Allentown area."

In other words, it had been missing for about a week and recovered some 200 miles away.

Asked Thursday about the incident, Ted Britt Ford general manager Evelyn Akers Smallwood declined to comment.
