Police: Fairfax Man Jailed for Taking Cell Phone

He was arrested after returning to scene, say Fairfax City police.

Fairfax City police arrested a Fairfax man Tuesday night after he allegedly struck a woman in a local restaurant and took her cell phone, according to a police report.

The police transported Bashar J. Alnouman, 27, of 9627 Blake Lane, Fairfax, to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with robbery and ordered held without bond, the report said.

The police responded at about 9 p.m. Tuesday to Shlal Kabob, 10515 Main St. The female victim told them that Alnouman, with whom she was acquainted, struck her and forcibly took her cell phone, then walked out of the restaurant and left the area in a vehicle.

Alnouman subsequently returned to the scene, and after questioning by police, he was taken into custody.
