Police: Jogger Hit By Car in Crosswalk on Route 123

The driver didn't stop to render aid or exchange information, say Fairfax County police.

A 38-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle Thursday evening while jogging in the crosswalk across Ox Road (Route 123) at Zion Drive south of Fairfax City, according to Fairfax County police.

The striking vehicle, described as a small gray sedan, was making a right turn on red from Zion onto Ox Road just prior to 6:30 p.m. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid or exchange information, the police said.

The victim, who had the right of way to cross the road, was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
