Police: Teen Burglary Ring Hits Lanier Middle School (ICYMI)

In Case You Missed It: Four suspects face charges in juvenile court, say Fairfax City police.

The Fairfax City police have broken up a teenage burglary ring that has been stealing valuables from Sidney Lanier Middle School.

The police nabbed two juvenile suspects over the weekend who had broken into the school, and two others have been implicated, according to a police report. Juvenile court proceedings are pending against all of the suspects, they said.

The first two suspects were apprehended when city police responded at 12:51 a.m. Sunday to a security alarm that went off at the school, at 3801 Jermantown Road. Officers searched the building and took the two male suspects, both 15 and from the Fairfax area, into custody.

An investigation revealed that the two apprehended suspects, along with two other male juveniles, had entered the school several times and stolen radios, chargers and food items, the police report said. The police contacted the parents of the juveniles, and the suspedts were released to their parents.
