Policeman Injured When Driver Rear-Ends His Cruiser
Officer was assisting another motorist, say Fairfax County police.

A Fairfax County police officer was injured Wednesday when a vehicle hit his cruiser in the rear while he was assisting a disabled motorist.
The accident occurred at about 11:47 a.m. in Burke, on the Fairfax County Parkway at the intersection with Roberts Parkway, according to a police report. The officer was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the cruiser was charged with failure to yield the right of way when approaching stationary emergency vehicles. The police did not release the driver’s name, age or place of residence.
