Robbery, Narcotics Charges Levied Against Man At Fairfax City Business

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — City of Fairfax Police arrested a man early Friday morning for threatening the employees of a city gas station with a knife.

Officers responded around 5:39 a.m., to a gas station located at 10485 Fairfax Blvd. for the report of someone threatening staff members.

Through their investigation, the officers determined that a man entered the business and demanded money from employees, while showing that he had a knife stuck in his waistband. The victims were able to flee from the man and call 911. No injuries were reported.

Police located the suspect, whom they identified as 39-year-old Walter Kindred III of no fixed address, nearby. Searching Kindred, they found various narcotics and multiple knives.

Kindred was taken the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with one count of robbery and two counts of possession of schedule I/II narcotics with intent to distribute. He was then held in the ADC without bond.
