Schools Host Health and Wellness Conference Saturday at Fairfax High
The free event features speakers, breakout sessions and the screening of a new documentary. Hosted by Fairfax County Public Schools.

FAIRFAX, VA — Fairfax County Public Schools will host its annual Health and Wellness Conference 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday at Fairfax High School, 3501 Rebel Run.
The conference is free and will have a wide variety of breakout sessions exploring various topics related to physical and mental health for students.
Dr. Dena Simmons, director of implementation at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence is the keynote speaker.

The featured speaker is Dr. Gloria Addo-Ayensu, the Fairfax County director of health.
A special screening is scheduled for the new documentary, "Resilience: the Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope," which looks into how adverse childhood experience can alter brain development and be predictive of future health issues.

Concessions Available Coffee and light breakfast foods will be available for sale by Cameron's Coffee and Chocolates. Water, soda, snacks and pizza will be available for sale to support our Nontraditional School Program Graduation.
