Snowfall Timeline for Fairfax Tuesday

Snow is expected to begin falling late Monday and continue through Tuesday. Here's how much and when in Fairfax.

It’s beginning to look a lot like a little bit of snow, but it’s expected to fall through most of Tuesday.

A winter weather advisory will be in effect until midnight Tuesday. Snow accumulation is expected to be between 1 to 3 inches, with locally higher amounts in the northwest suburbs of the D.C. region.

Snow covered roads and travel disruptions are expected and VDOT is warning commuters to plan their commute Tuesday to account for the weather.

By 1 a.m. Tuesday: 0.3 inches

1-4 a.m.: 0.4 inches

4-7 a.m.: 0.5 inches

7 a.m. to 1 p.m.: 1.6 inches

1-6 p.m.: 0.7 inches

6 p.m. until midnight: 0.5 inches.
