Strangulation Charge Filed Against Annandale Man For Shelter Assault

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — Jaime Granados, 28, of Annandale faces a strangulation charge in connection with an assault that occurred July 22 at The Lamb Center, according to the weekly crime report.

City of Fairfax Police responded around 8:43 a.m., for the report of an assault at the daytime drop-in homeless shelter, which is located at 3160 Campbell Drive.

The victim told police that they had asked Granados to leave the shelter but he refused. When the victim blocked access to one of the shelter's rooms. Granados grabbed them by neck and squeezed tightly, according to the report. The victim was treated by medical staff for their injuries.

The responding officers located Granados nearby and took him into custody, according to police. He was then taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with strangulation and being drunk in public. Granados is being held without bond.
