Suspicious Package Scare at Home Depot: Item Harmless
Item in shopping cart in parking lot found to be harmless. Fairfax County Police had kept customers inside the store Tuesday afternoon.
FAIRFAX, VA — A suspicious package found in a shopping cart Tuesday afternoon is harmless, according to Fairfax County Police.
The scare closed off roads around the Home Depot at Price Club Plaza early Tuesday afternoon.
Customers were kept inside the store and other residents were told to avoid the area as crews worked to determine whether the package was a threat.

The first alert went out just before noon regarding the incident. Patrons were allowed to exit the store 2 hours later.
Piney Branch Road was closed temporarily between Route 29 and West Ox Road is closed.
