Temporary Closure Of University Drive At Old Town Hall This Week

The repairs to Old Town Hall are nearly complete. On Nov. 17, Fairfax City will implement a temporary closure of University Drive in Old Town Fairfax to reinstall the final two columns on the 122-year-old building.

From 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, University Drive will close between North and Main streets. Additionally, the sidewalk directly in front of Old Town Hall will be closed to pedestrians. A flagger will be stationed at the closure.

Expect delays in Old Town Fairfax during this time, and consider alternate routes.

After all columns are successfully reinstalled, contractors will remove the temporary supports currently in place, then the current lane closure in front of Old Town Hall will end. This could take as many as three or more days after the column placement.
