Thanksgiving 2017: What's Open, Closed In Fairfax
Some services in Fairfax are closed on both Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Here's the city's schedule for the week.
FAIRFAX, VA — Here's the city of Fairfax government Thanksgiving week holiday schedule:
Monday, Nov. 20
- Refuse/recyclables collection: Monday and Tuesday routes collected.
Tuesday, Nov. 21

- Refuse/recyclables collection: Wednesday and Thursday routes collected.
Wednesday, Nov. 22
- Refuse/recyclables collection: Friday route collected.
- General District Court: closes at noon.
Thursday, Nov. 23

- Closed or no service: city government offices, refuse and recycling center, General District Court, Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center, Historic Blenheim, CUE Bus and refuse/recyclables.
Friday, Nov. 24
- Closed or no service: city government offices, refuse and recycling center and General District Court.
- Fairfax Museum and Visitor Center: open
- Historic Blenheim: open
- CUE Bus: modified weekday service
Please be aware: collecting multiple days' worth of debris on a single day may cause atypical delays in collection. Yard debris that is not picked up by Wednesday, November 22, will be picked up on Saturday, November 25.
The City of Fairfax does not collect debris (refuse, recycling, yard waste, etc.) on holidays observed by the city, including Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving holiday.
