Traffic Alert: Lane Closures on Chain Bridge Road

At 4 a.m. Tuesday, the southbound left lane of Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) just north of the intersection with North Street will be closed for emergency asphalt repairs, the Fairfax City government announced Monday.

This closure will be followed by the closure of the northbound left lane in the same location starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Traffic will be able to pass by the work zone, the city said, but motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

The repairs are needed because a broken water main has caused the roadway to sink, the city said. The water main has been repaired.
