Trespassing Arrest at Church on Christmas Eve

Incident part of a busy holiday for Fairfax City Police.

As residents were preparing for the holiday, Fairfax City Police was busy handling several arrests, according to the incident report released Monday.

At 6:40 a.m. Christmas Eve, officers responded to the St. Leo the Great Catholic Church at 3700 Old Lee Highway regarding a disorderly male subject. The man was identified as Jose E. Cruz-Cruz, 30, of the 9100 block of Barrick St., Fairfax.

Cruz-Cruz was transported to the detention center, charged with disorderly conduct and released. He was ordered not to return to the church. At 9:34 a.m., officers were called back to the church because Cruz-Cruz had returned and allegedly refused to leave. He was charged with trespassing and ordered held without bond.

Also on Christmas Eve, officers performing a traffic stop in the area of Chain Bridge Road and Eaton Place discovered the driver had a warrant out for his arrest from Pennsylvania. Abdulkadir Ahmed Ali, 24, of the 6400 block of South Street, Falls Church, was taken into custody as a fugitive from justice.

And, at 1:54 a.m. on Christmas Day, officers responded to the Oak Knoll Apartments in the 10700 block of Main Street regarding a subject trying to break into an apartment. They found the suspect and a “severely damaged” door. Hardeep Singh, 31, of 10764 Main Street, was charged with felony breaking and entering with intent to assault and ordered held without bond.
