Vehicle Hits Child On Bike In Sterling

An 8-year-old is in stable condition after being hit by a vehicle while riding his dirt bike Tuesday: Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

STERLING, VA — An 8-year-old is in stable condition after being hit by a vehicle while riding his dirt bike Tuesday afternoon in the area of Mountain Laurel Terrace and Augusta Drive, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Shortly after 4 p.m., police responded to the scene. A driver was on Mountain Laurel Terrace when the vehicle hit the child. The driver remained on the scene. A preliminary investigation found the child went off the sidewalk, tried to cross Mountain Laurel Terrace and didn't stop before being hit.
