FAIRFAX, VA — A car crashed into a Whole Foods Market in the Fair Lakes area late Tuesday afternoon, leading Fairfax County firefighters to evacuate the store.

The car crashed into the Whole Foods Market at 4501 Market Common Drive in Fairfax County at about 4:45 p.m., Fairfax County Fire and Rescue said. The fire department ordered the evacuation of the store after the crash knocked out power.

The driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. As of 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, fire officials were reporting no other injuries inside the store.

The crash caused significant damage to the front of the store, NBC4 reported.

By about 5:30 p.m., the fire department had pulled the car out of the store and onto the back of flatbed tow truck.
