Avoid a Ticket: Yellow Vehicle Decal Required

All cars, trucks, and motorcycles normally garaged within City of Falls Church must be registered and clearly display a 2015 yellow decal.

All cars, trucks, and motorcycles normally garaged within the City must be registered and clearly display a 2015 yellow City decal, according to a news release from the City. The City’s parking enforcement officer will ticket cars without decals properly posted on front windshields.

The Treasurer’s Office mails the current year decals with the personal property tax bills each year. Residents who have not received a 2015 yellow decal should check with the Treasurer’s Office for possible unpaid personal property tax. There is no fee for replacement decals. The Treasurer’s Office can be reached at 703-248-5046 (TTY 711) ortreasurer@fallschurchva.gov.

New residents must first register their car with the City’s Commissioner of the Revenue before they can get a decal. Visit www.fallschurchva.gov/VehicalReg to register online or download a form to mail or fax. The decal fee is $33 a year for most vehicles. Separate fee schedules apply to trucks, motorcycles, taxicabs, and buses.
