Contractor Injured In Falls Church Stove Fire

FALLS CHURCH, VA—A contractor working in a condo unit was injured when a fire broke out Monday in Falls Church.
Around 11:10 a.m., a flash fire started in a stove at a Falls Chase condo unit, according to the City of Falls Church. A contractor working on the stove had minor burn injuries, was taken to the hospital and released. No one else was injured. The city said there was no danger to the public.
The Arlington Fire Department says a broken gas line caused a leak during the fire response. Washington Gas was on the scene assessing.

Residents temporarily evacuated until the gas line could be repaired. Gas was turned off for a number of units. Residents of the building should contact Washington Gas with concerns.
The City of Falls Church fire marshal and building inspector are assessing damages.
