Massive Fire In Bailey's Crossroads Displaces 50 People
The three-alarm fire prompted numerous rescues from balconies and displaced dozens.

BAILEYS'S CROSSROADS, VA—A fire at a Bailey's Crossroads apartment building Thursday morning went to three alarms and prompted numerous rescues, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue says.
Units responded to the 3400 block of Carlin Springs Road around 5:40 a.m. Firefighters found a significant fire on the second floor extending to the third floor with people trapped inside. Crews began with fire suppression and rescue efforts. At least eight people were rescued from balconies, and all other residents were accounted for. No injuries were reported, but one person was evaluated by EMS.

Assistant Chef Joe Knerr reported around 50 residents were displaced. Residents are receiving assistance from the fire department's welfare unit.
