Traffic Alert: Signal Maintenance at Major Intersection in Falls Church
Expect lane closures at the intersection of Broad and Washington streets for the next three weeks from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Beginning this week, drivers in Falls Church are advised that the major intersection of Broad Street (Route 7/Leesburg Pike) and Washington Street (Route 29/Lee Highway) may experience delays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as a contractor upgrades signal wiring.
Over the next three weeks, a City contractor will be trenching across three legs of the intersection to install the new conduit and wiring. Work will be confined to a single lane at any time, but the traffic impacts could affect all four legs at any time.
Work on the project will continue through November, but will be primarily outside of the travel lanes or conducted at night, and traffic impacts after the trenching is completed (anticipated by Nov. 7) should be minimal.
